As a Sales Business Manager, you will drive business growth by identifying opportunities for new contracts and customers while collaborating with the Commercial Manager (Energy) to manage budgets and forecasts. You will lead and coach a sales team to meet targets, negotiate contracts, resolve operational issues, and ensure compliance. Your role will also involve fostering interdepartmental communication to enhance customer value and profitability, as well as managing Energy Stocks in coordination with other divisions. The position requires strong leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, alongside preferred relevant experience in selling primarily pipe, fittings and flanges to the petrochemical energy sectors. Proficiency in MS Office and SAP is also essential and regular UK travel and occasional international travel are expected in this role.

Main activities/Responsibilities:

  • Looks for opportunities to grow the business, whether through new contracts, customers or initiatives and works to take advantage of these opportunities.
  • Makes commercial budgets and periodical forecasts in close cooperation with the Commercial Director / Manager.
  • Composes periodical reports, demonstrating performance to budgets, forecasting and historical.
  • Direct management of sales team, ensuring targets are met.
  • Negotiates on-going and new contracts with customers with alignment to Director / manager.
  • Resolving issues with contracts and commercial operations.
  • Ensures that the commercial functions are executed in full compliance with Van Leeuwen Corporate instructions, guidelines and values.
  • Sets targets to commercial staff.
  • Coaches employees on best commercial practices for developing and maintaining business and continuous improvement of the relevant processes.
  • Additional related ad hoc duties as they arise.
  • Coach and drive the adoption of (CRM) with in our business for better performance.
  • Support good cooperation between the departments to create greater customer value and profitability.
  • Lead the effective communication with other departments / teams with respect.
  • Be responsible for various cooperative projects, direct the work, ensure that the right people and features come in contact with each other
  • Responsible for all Energy Stocks and managing this working in co-operation with other energy divisions

  • Demonstrable and relevant experience.
  • Strong competences in self-starting, negotiating, prioritisation and communication.
  • Good business acumen with external/internal customer focus and problem solving skills.
  • Conscientious, organised, thorough, and where necessary with a hands-on approach
  • Knowledge of MS Office and SAP.

Regular UK travel / occasional international travel
