To work in support with Operations Director and promote Best Practice within the organisation. To direct and control all site specific operations, logistics and QHSE matters

Leadership

Coaching, Training and development of employees- identify and implement in partnership with HR, adhere to internal performance management procedures (appraisals, targets, identifying talent and managing underperformance etc)

  • Ensure QSHE compliance- conducting of accident/incident investigations,

ensuring safe working practices are adhered to and maintaining a safe working environment at all times

  • Support the development and continuous improvement of the Quality Management system
  • Plan practical and effective methods, both preventative and remedial, prioritizing and promoting safe working practices
  • Collaborate with UK Technical Support and supply chain in the development of ops and logistics internal policies and procedures for continuous improvement including but not limited to:
  • Site saw strategy
  • Material flow analysis
  • Site FLT/crane strategy
  • Transport (C&D, Other haulers) coordination and management
  • Carry out regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly

implemented

  • Keep up to date with relevant new legislations/technologies/equipment
  • Budget forecast and maintenance for relevant site, with an aim to reduce/optimize costs and efficiencies.

Site Performance

  • Identify strategic goals and local KPI’s for relevant site- operations, logistics and QHSE
  • Maintain and report on data in accordance with local KPI’s, perform analysis and identify Continuous Improvement strategies/implement initiatives, including implementing OEE on constrained machinery/ equipment
  • Optimize internal systems and procedures to ensure safe, strategic, efficient and practical (Operations, Logistics and QHSE) including lean and 5s
  • Ensure procedures and systems are clear, communicated at that appropriate training is delivered and adhered to.
  • Take ownership of and drive continuous improvement process and feedback
  • Responsible For site Budget forecasts and CAPEX strategy
  • Identify and drive cost efficiencies including- optimal equipment/machinery, transport, overtime, operational resources (optimize FTE).
  • Responsible for effective Stock control and physical inventory count (for relevant site)

Operational

  • Manage daily escalated issues, communicate with internal stakeholders
  • Manage external contractors/contractor agreements and performance, ensure necessary procedures and QHSE standards are adhered to.
  • Work in partnership with internal stakeholders to address topical issues/business strategy
  • Participate in UK Operations management meetings – contribute with a focus on people, quality velocity cost.
  • Overall responsibility/accountability for site.
  • Collaborate with UK Technical support manager and supply chain

People

  • Drive safety first approach and culture of feedback and improvement
  • Accountable for overall for site QHSE policies, procedures, training, culture,  compliance, audits investigation/root cause analysis, follow up and continuous improvement
  • Ensure equipment, PPE and Machinery is suitable, safe, maintained and audited
  • Dotted Line manage site QHSE Engineer

Experience

  • Good secondary education or time served equivalent
  • Good knowledge of Operations and Logistics at a management level
  • Six Sigma – preferred
  • Having worked in a Management role, preferably in the manufacturing environment for a minimum of 3 years
  • Strong people manager and leadership skills with the ability to develop and motivate team members.
